Sealant products are widely used in building doors and windows, curtain walls, interior decoration and seam sealing of various materials, with a wide range of products. In order to meet the appearance requirements, the colors of sealants are also various, but in the actual use process, there will be various color-related problems. Today, Junbond will answer them one by one.
The conventional colors of sealant generally refer to three colors of black, white and gray.
In addition, the manufacturer will also set some other commonly used colors as fixed colors for customers to choose. Except for the fixed colors provided by the manufacturer, they can be called unconventional color (color matching) products, which usually require additional color matching fees. .
Why some color manufacturers do not recommend using it?
The color of the sealant comes from the pigments added in the ingredients, and the pigments can be divided into organic pigments and inorganic pigments.
Both organic pigments and inorganic pigments have their advantages and disadvantages in the application of sealant toning. When it is necessary to modulate more vivid colors, such as red, purple, etc., organic pigments must be used to achieve color effects. The light resistance and heat resistance of organic coatings are poor, and the sealant products tinted with organic pigments will naturally fade after a period of use, affecting the appearance. Although it does not affect the performance of the sealant, it is always mistaken for a problem with the product quality.
Some people think that it is not unreasonable that color will affect the performance of sealant. When preparing a small number of dark products, due to the inability to accurately grasp the amount of pigments, the proportion of pigments will exceed the standard. The excessive pigment ratio will affect the performance of the sealant. Use with caution.
Toning is more than just adding paint. How to call out the accurate color without error, and how to ensure the stability of the product on the basis of changing the color are problems that many manufacturers have not yet solved.
As the largest tinting glue manufacturer in Asia, Junbond has the most advanced tinting production line in the world, which can accurately and quickly adjust the corresponding color according to customer needs.
Why can’t structural adhesive be tinted?
As the guardian of the safety of glass curtain wall, the structural adhesive is used between the frame and the glass panel, which plays the role of structural fixation, and usually does not leak, so there is very little demand for structural adhesive toning.
There are two types of structural adhesives: one-component and two-component. Two-component structural adhesive is generally white for component A, black for component B, and black after mixing evenly. In GB 16776-2005, it is clearly stipulated that the color of the two components of the two-component product should be significantly different. Its purpose is to facilitate the judgment of whether the structural adhesive is mixed evenly. On the construction site, the construction personnel do not have professional color matching equipment, and the two-component color matching products may have problems such as uneven mixing and large color difference, which will seriously affect the use of the product. Therefore, two-component products are mostly black, and only in rare cases are custom gray.
Although the one-component structural adhesive can be uniformly tinted during production, the performance of black products is the most stable. Structural adhesives play an important structural fixing role in buildings. Safety is more important than Mount Tai, and color matching is generally not recommended.
